From Small Family Producers to your Table.
Owned by the Davault family for six generations, Domaine de la Chaise is composed of 140 acres of vines located on the hillsides of Saint Georges sur Cher, the wine capital of the Touraine appellation (AOC)
Christophe Davault is the 6th generation winemaker, along with his son, Quentin, (up & coming 7th generation). Of course, Veronique, wife of Christophe and mother of Quentin, is in charge.
Terroir: The vines grow on siliceous slopes on the left bank of the Cher and its tributaries, on a layer of limestone.
Vinification:
100% Sauvignon Sustainably Farmed Vegan Certified HEV Accredited
One of the seven European vineyards, listed as World Heritage by UNESCO, the vineyards unfold as far as the eye can see. Fifty winegrowers passionately produce top of the range wines, the development of which requires precise and binding technical specifications, and marketing authorization subject to rigorous qualitative validation.
Touraine-Chenonceaux (AOP) is set around Loire Valley’s most picturesque and iconic Chateâu, of the same name.
Tasting Notes:
Classy and elegant with a purity and intensity of floral notes and restrained exotic and citrus fruit. Golden colour with a complex minerality that rewards in a sophisticated wine balanced by acidity. Aging on fine lees, brings roundness and finesse. A seriously good food wine.
