From one of the few estate producers in Vinho Verde. One of the few wineries doing high-density planting, allowing more concentration of the fruit. The Winery has a Relaix & Chateaux hotel and is home to a one-star Michelin restaurant. The 2020 Portal da Calçada Reserva (Quinta da Calcada) is an unoaked, equal blend of Alvarinho, Loureiro, Arinto, Azal and Trajadura. It is relatively dry (6 grams per liter of RS) and comes in at 11.5% alc. If you enjoy white wine, you should try this. It’s a great find.

Quinta da Calçada is located in the historic center of Amarante, 40 minutes from Porto. It is located in the sub-region of Amarante, in the Vinho Verde region, about 10 minutes from the entrance to the Douro region. This sub-region is characterized by granitic soils, with some mixtures of schist, and Atlantic influence, producing wines markedly mineral, of high freshness and great gastronomic aptitude.
