SKU: 374442
The region of Ardeche is best known as a “natural playground”, renowned for its stunning landscape: steep hills and valleys, often luxuriantly clad in sweet chestnuts, beautiful old villages, some of them appearing to grow organically out of the dramatic gorges cut by the Ardèche river and its tributaries. But it also possesses three major appellations: Côtes du Vivarais, Coteaux de l’Ardèche, and at the south-eastern tip, around Bourg St.-Andeol, the vineyards that just nudge into the Côtes du Rhône. Cellier du Pont D’Arc is a striking limestone landmark and gateway to the Ardeche underground gorges. This unique blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Grenache Blanc features vibrant white blossom and lemon zest, offering a fresh, crisp profile balanced with minerality and roundness. Sustainable, HVE certified, it reflects the region’s essence.
Accolades:
Ardeche is Number 7 of the 101 departments, within the region of Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes in Southern France. It is the only French department without passenger trains and is not heavily touristy. Taking a canoe trip down the Ardèche River is almost a right of passage for French teenagers on a summer holiday or away at camp. The translated name of the wine, Cellar of the Arc Bridge, depicts the natural gateway to the Ardeche Gorges, not far from the Chauvet Caves UNESCO World Heritage Site (pre-historic caves). No one wants to spoil this place. Founded in 1967, Vignerons Ardéchois is a unique collective of 14 wineries that grow and produce award winning wines, while respecting nature and their heritage.
